Brief History of the School

This School was established on 1st April 1917 under the management of Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Devasthanam and Charities. The founder of the School was Sri Vemuri Parthasarathy Chetty, B.A. Retired Collector and also one of the members of the managing committee at that time.

The School was recognised by the Government of Tamilnadu in 1936. The School became Higher Elementary School with Government aid during the year 1938. The School was bifur-cated into Elementary School and Middle School during the year 1947. Then as High School and subsequently upgraded as Higher Secondary School from 1978-79.

The present School has three storeyed building with airy and ventilated classrooms at 107/223, Govindappa naicken Street, Chennai-1. The Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee of the School were celebrated in 1967 and 1977 respectively. The Platinum Jubilee of the School was celebrated during the year 1993. The Centenary Celebrations of our School was held at Kuchalambal Kalyana Mandapam on 9th July 2017. Sri G. Mallikarjuna Rao, Chairman GMR Group was the Guest of Honour and Sri Sidda Raghavarao, Hon'ble Minister for Environment, Forest, Science & Technology Govt. of Andhra Pradesh was the Chief Guest. Additional new class rooms were constructed in 2001. New Additional (2nd) staircase was constructed in 2007 for the convenience and safety of our students.

The School was upgraded into a Higher Secondary School during the year 1978 at the time of introduction of Higher Secondary Pattern of Education in Tamil Nadu with General and Vocational Subjects.

Free computer education with Internet facilities has been introduced in this school since 1999. The institution offers computer education to all the students of std. VI those who opted Telugu Medium. Several teachers and non-teaching staff are also trained in Computer System Operations. English Medium Sections are functioning. Tamil is also taught as part 1 from Std VI onwards.
