On 9th January 2025, S.K.P.D. Boys’ Higher Secondary School and Primary School celebrated Pongal and Bhogi with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor on the school campus. The event witnessed the participation of 120 students from Classes 1 to 9 and 11, along with teachers and staff members.
The celebration began with a warm welcome extended to the Correspondent Sir, who was honoured with a Thalapakkattu by Pirathan B. CM Sir also graced the occasion with his presence.
A special pooja was performed by V. Balakumara Swamy, invoking blessings for a prosperous year ahead. The traditional preparation of Pongal in earthen pots was led by G. Bhavani, with enthusiastic participation from all the teachers. The Bhogi celebration added a vibrant and festive charm to the occasion.
The formal program commenced with Headmistress Mrs. O. Leelarani welcoming the guests, followed by inspiring addresses by the Correspondent Sir and CM Sir, who also released the 2025 School Pamphlets. The event was further graced by the presence of Arya Vysya Sabha Head and esteemed alumnus Mr. Trinadh Sir.
An exciting prize distribution ceremony followed, recognizing and awarding students who excelled in Handwriting and Math Lab activities. In a generous gesture, Mr. Giridhar, an alumnus of S.K.P.D., donated pens for the students, which were distributed by Mr. Trinadh Garu.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. W.V.B. Suresh. Prasadam, including Sundal and Pongal, was distributed to all students and staff members.
The Pongal celebration was filled with fun, dances, and music, creating joyful memories and reinforcing a deep sense of cultural pride among everyone present.
